Creating New Dimensions of Art through Technology

Aug 7 – Sept 9, 2014

?Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

3/F Bridgeway Gallery

Relative Realities is a digital art exhibit and experience featuring the works of printmaker Ambie Abaño, painter Ernest Concepcion, painter Jason Montinola, visual artist and designer Leeroy New, visual artist Arturo Sanchez, Jr., and multimedia and performance artist Josephine Turalba

Presented by Samsung Electronics Philippines and Yuchengco Museum, Relative Realities goes beyond the traditional museum experiences, where art is placed on a wall or pedestal and the curator dictates how the art is to be appreciated.

The exhibit allows you to also interact and immerse with the artworks in front of you. Simply point the provided Samsung tablet or your smartphone or tablet installed with the new FACETS app* onto an art piece, and watch it come alive. Through augmented reality technology, a second layer of multimedia–be it video, animation, sound, or even 3D graphics–is revealed, creating a new art experience.

* The exhibit is supported by FACETS, an Android mobile app that allows museumgoers to interact not only with the artworks in Relative Realities , but also with select pieces from the Yuchengco Museum art collection. FACETS is available for free on the Google Play Store.???
